We value the communities in which we do business and strive to improve them with our presence. We recognize IHOP's success depends not only on the skill sets and contributions of our employees and the relationships we foster with our franchisees, but also on the health and prosperity of the communities in which we do business. We have seen clear and tangible results through our efforts in supporting programs that care for children. We hope to make a difference by giving back in the communities where we operate. In its purest form, it is one way we say thank you. Every year hundreds of fundraisers and events take place across the country. Some of these fundraisers include: - National Pancake Day, an annual event that has raised more than $3.25 million to date in support of Children's Miracle Network and other local charities
- Each spring, Arizona IHOPs support Childhelp, one of the oldest and largest national nonprofits dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Since the partnership started in 1999, Arizona IHOPs have raised more than $275,000 for Childhelp.
- During the holiday season, hundreds of IHOPs throughout the country support Toys for Tots and other community programs that give back to families and children in need.
We also engage our Restaurant Support Center employees in community-investment and development initiatives that serve the communities where we live and operate. The Philanthropic Day provides for paid time off for our employees giving them an opportunity to volunteer a full day of paid time off. At our Restaurant Support Center, employees have invested many hours of work in our communities with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Los Angeles Downtown Women's Shelter.
