OKLAHOMA STATE FANS! OKLAHOMA UNIVERSITY FANS! IT’S ON…AT YOUR LOCAL IHOP® RESTAURANTS!
2ND ANNUAL FAN CHALLENGE BENEFITTING CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION KICKS OFF OCT. 21 WITH A PANCAKE PEP RALLY!
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (October 13, 2014) – IHOP® restaurants in and around the Oklahoma City area are kicking off their second annual OSU/OU Challenge October 21 through December 6, benefitting local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital programs. Paying homage to the fierce football rivalry between Oklahoma State University and The University of Oklahoma that has divided family and friends since the early 1900s, IHOP restaurants in Oklahoma City, Norman and Stillwater will again sell and display OSU and OU paper footballs, challenging fans to demonstrate their fan support with 100% of proceeds benefitting The Children’s Hospital Foundation in Oklahoma City.
The challenge will “kick off” on October 21 at 11 a.m. with a pep rally at the Bricktown IHOP restaurant located at 401 E California Ave. in Oklahoma City. In show of their school spirit, notable Oklahoma personalities will face off against one another in a pancake eating & stacking competition. Winners will receive bragging rights and the opportunity to represent their favorite team by hanging the first official paper football of the fundraiser. Fans are also encouraged to attend and cheer on their school.
After the big game on December 6, purchased footballs will be tallied and the team whose dedicated fans bought the most footballs will receive the esteemed title of “2014 IHOP Bedlam Challenge Winner.” Regardless of who wins the game, or the IHOP Football Challenge, the real winners will be the children who benefit from the generous donations of Oklahoma football fans.
“We are looking forward to bringing back our Bedlam Challenge at IHOP again this year,” said Perry Farr, Franchise Business Consultant, International House of Pancakes, LLC, who oversees area operations. “Fans of both teams have three things in common – the love of their team, their overwhelming generosity when it comes to helping others—and their love of IHOP pancakes. We are delighted to provide a fun contest that draws on all these to help the great work done by the Children’s Hospital Foundation and truly make a difference in the lives of these kids.”
